I will be placing an order for fitted t-shirts, zipper hoodie sweatshirt, and tote bags. Info will be coming home this week. I am using a design from a "stock" design company, so it will be this design (much clearer though) but say "Kaleidoscope Dance Studio".

Class Update 8/16/10

FYI, all classes are full EXCEPT Intermediate Jazz 10-12 on Tuesdays at 6:30. There has been a lot of switcheroo because of some kindergarten issues, and if you have a different kindergarten time than you thought, let me know ASAP and we will see what we can do. See you all next week!

Class Correction

On the schedule, there is a Pre-Ballet 5-6 class listed for Wednesday 4:00. That is a MIS-PRINT! That class is scheduled for Wednesdays at 3:15 (focused for A.M. Kindergartners). Please make note of the change.

Registration Procedures 2010

NEW INFORMATION REGARDING REGISTRATION

Registration procedures are new this year…please read!

CURRENT STUDENTS:

1. E-mail your registration request starting on Friday, April 30^th at 8:00 A.M. to a NEW studio e-mail address: kdsdance@gmail.com .

2. I will confirm your request that day

3. Bring the registration form and the required $14 payment for the 2 weeks in August. Please feel free to bring these to class the week of May 4-6. If I don’t receive the form/tuition by Thursday, May 6^th, you will lose the spot in the class.

SIBLINGS OF CURRENT STUDENTS:

1. E-mail your registration request starting Saturday, May 1^st at 8:00 A.M.

2. I will confirm your request that day

3. Bring the registration form and $14 to class the week of May 4-6. Siblings do not need to pay the $10 new student registration fee.

NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION:

Friday, May 7^th.. anytime from 4:30-6:00 at the studio. Space is often very limited in many classes, but I will fit students in where I can. If there is an abundance of new students for a certain level, I am open to the possibility of opening another class if necessary. New students will need to fill out the registration form and pay the $10 new student registration fee + the $14 non-refundable August tuition (2 weeks).

Registration on the horizon!

Registration for 2010-2011 will be happening shortly. Check back soon for more information!

Costumes....

Most costumes will be going home the week of April 27-29, however, there are a few that will have to go home a week or two later. Everyone will have their costume by the 1st dress rehearsal, if not sooner. Some of my costume companies take longer than others to deliver.

Please remember that pictures/rehearsal is May 15...times to be sent out soon!

Please make sure your account is up to date. Recital Fee and Costume Fee should be in by now. April payment is the last payment required.

I will be announcing next year's schedule soon and outlining the registration process. Please fill out the light purple forms that are being sent out this week so I can get a feel of how many classes are needed.

Recital is on the way

Alright...you should have received all your recital info by now. Please have measurements in by February 4th. I know it's early, but some companies have to have that much time to get me the costumes.

I'll go into the theme next post.

About the director, Liz Newman-Sackewitz

Liz received a degree in Dance Education from BYU. She was a member of the BYU Cheer Squad and Dancensemble. Liz was the recipient of the Research and Creative Activities award and her choreography was showcased at the American College Dance Festival. Between 1997-2000, Liz took over the dance programs at American Fork High School, where she coached the modern dance company and drill team. She has spent many years teaching groups of all ages and abilities at local schools and studios, as well as running Kaleidoscope Dance Studio for 14 years. Liz is the mother of Parker (14), Emi (12), Quinn (8), and Macy (5).

Becky Jorgensen (pictured below) has enjoyed dancing in one form or another since she was 3. She has danced with her high school drill team and dance company, in musicals, and with BYU's Folk Dance ensemble. Ballet and modern technique classes were a favorite in college as well. She lives in Draper with her husband and two daughters, ages 9 and 10. She loves teaching children. In addition to teaching, Becky loves reading, cooking (especially desserts) and adventures with her family. She is thrilled to be starting her fourth year teaching at Kaleidoscope!

Lisa Liddell began her ballet career with The Children's Ballet Theater at the age of 3. When she was 14 she studied under Willam Christensen at The Christensen Academy. After dancing with Mr. "C" for 5 years she continued to dance as she majored in ballet at the University of Utah, where eventually she graduated with a degree in Family and Consumer Studies. She had the privilege of dancing in Ballet West's Nutcracker for 4 years in her youth. Most recently she was the dance director for her stake in the Draper Temple Celebration. Lisa and her husband Brian have been married for 16 years and they have two sons, Tanner (13) and Tyler (10). She currently resides in Draper, Utah.

LeeAnn (pictured below) has been dancing since she was 3 years old. In her teens she especially loved drill and clogging. After High School she went to Ricks College where she was able to teach clogging classes and was President of their women’s clogging team. While studying Elementary Education at BYU she furthered her dance experience with a variety of dance classes as well as performing with their Folk Dance Ensemble. During some of her college years she taught dance classes for Granite Community Education in the summer. LeeAnn taught 6^th grade at Crescent Elementary for 7 years and every year her students performed a song and dance program. The highlight of these programs was the opportunity for her kids to perform for various Olympic venues during the 2002 Olympics. She lives in Sandy with her sweet husband and 4 fantastic kids. She is very excited to be part of the team at Kaleidoscope Dance.
