Parents: I'm closing out my last t-shirts, sweatshirts, and tote bags from last year's order. They are $7 for tote bags, $10 for t-shirts, and $18 for sweatshirts, and there are very limited #'s of each (esp. sweatshirts). I will not be ordering new sweatshirts or totes this year, but might do another T-SHIRT and SWEATPANTS order. Still working on that.

All classes are at full capacity this year. The only class with available spots is the Monday 4:20 ballet for 9-11 year olds. Dancers should have experience to join this class. As for the other classes, I'm always willing to put you on a waiting list. Thanks!

leotard or tight-fitting shirt (must cover stomach)

tights, dance pants, or track pants

jazz or ballet shoes….mandatory! It really affects their turns. There are good deals on dance shoes at Kid to Kid, Payless, and Wal-Mart.

HAIR SECURED AWAY FROM FACE!

Ballet & Pre-Ballet

Any color leotard or tight fitting shirt (must cover stomach)

tights (short ballet skirts are acceptable. Poofy, poofy long tu-tus are not). No baggy pants or tops!

ballet shoes (barefeet is o.k. for Pre-ballet, but no socks…too slippery)

Shoes for Ballet classes age 6 and up should be canvas or leather.

HAIR SECURED AWAY FROM FACE!

While poofy, long tu-tus are fun for performing, they are too hard to deal with in technique class. Short tu-tus are fine for pre-ballet girls.

A small studio that focuses on technique, creativity, affordability, and fun!

Philosophy: Dance should be open to everyone. The goal of Kaleidoscope Dance Studio is to create an inviting arena for all students to experience and appreciate the joy of movement. Classes and performances are geared to age and ability.

Registration: Classes fill on a first come/first serve basis. Space is limited in each class.

Pre-ballet/Creative: a great beginning class that focuses on creative concepts and basic technique for young students age 3-6

Ballet/Creative: traditional ballet technique combined with modern and creative dance concepts.

Jazz: will contain classic jazz, hip-hop/funk, cheer, and lyrical jazz.

This is my flat fee per month, per student regardless of holidays or days off. Tuition is due by the 2^nd class of each month.

Current students are given priority in registration….we will fit in new students best we can, but this is a small studio with limited class size.

I will be doing new student registration for the 2011-12 school year on Friday, May 6th from 4:30-6:30 at the studio, located in the basement of 11471 Camden Road in Draper. Please know that KDS is a small studio and I generally plan for classes to fit the needs of my current students. We fit in new students where possible. If there is an overwhelming demand for a certain class, I could consider the possibility of adding another class.

Registration procedures are new this year…please read!

CURRENT STUDENTS:

1. E-mail your registration request starting on Friday, April 30^th at 8:00 A.M. to a NEW studio e-mail address: kdsdance@gmail.com .

2. I will confirm your request that day

3. Bring the registration form and the required $14 payment for the 2 weeks in August. Please feel free to bring these to class the week of May 4-6. If I don’t receive the form/tuition by Thursday, May 6^th, you will lose the spot in the class.

SIBLINGS OF CURRENT STUDENTS:

1. E-mail your registration request starting Saturday, May 1^st at 8:00 A.M.

2. I will confirm your request that day

3. Bring the registration form and $14 to class the week of May 4-6. Siblings do not need to pay the $10 new student registration fee.

NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION:

Friday, May 7^th.. anytime from 4:30-6:00 at the studio. Space is often very limited in many classes, but I will fit students in where I can. If there is an abundance of new students for a certain level, I am open to the possibility of opening another class if necessary. New students will need to fill out the registration form and pay the $10 new student registration fee + the $14 non-refundable August tuition (2 weeks).

Most costumes will be going home the week of April 27-29, however, there are a few that will have to go home a week or two later. Everyone will have their costume by the 1st dress rehearsal, if not sooner. Some of my costume companies take longer than others to deliver.

FYI, your daughter is welcome to wear a costume to class during the week of Oct 27-29th. However, it needs to be a costume that she can dance in. This includes proper footwear! Please don't send her in something that is too tight, too fragile, too long, or too hot and sweaty. Thanks!

Macy Jane Sackewitz is here! She was born early Sunday morning (Sept. 27) at 4:55 a.m. Macy was 7 lbs and 10 oz and stretched out to 19 1/2 inches. All is going well! Enjoy your week off. Classes start back up October 6th.
